This well worn, gray lamp is circular of body and has a medium length, thick nozzle. There is a rosary around the recessed fill hole and there are incised lines radiating from the rosary. Shape: Round bodied lamp with shallow ring base set off by inner and outer circular grooves; short vertical grooves on underside at juncture of nozzle and body; slightly carinated body profile; small concave discus with central fill hole; extended nozzle, lopsided, slightly squared at end. Decoration: Possible traces of slip. Relief decoration on top consisting of curved groove marking off wick hole; band of raised rings encircling discus; radiating grooves and ridges on shoulder; horizontal ridge at juncture of body and nozzle, curled at either end; rounded field of parallel grooves on top of nozzle; impressed dots at ends of grooves in an arched pattern. Inscriptions: Potter's mark on base (circle and dot). Condition: Intact; minor surface chips; heavily burnt; heavily worn.
